Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American dancer and actress. The first Broadway parts comprise Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors in stage TV and film. She keeps working on that award-winning project with various upcoming projects. Ashford's next venture will be an exclusive Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's current film will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford comes back to Broadway on March 20, 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford has played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is a remake of the story during which Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp were the main characters of the first impeachment trial in the United States. She was part of the cast for two seasons of the cult CBS comedy B Positive. Produced by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. The actress has also appeared in Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original character of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for the Tony Award. Growing up in Denver Ashford now splits her time between Los Angeles and New York.
