Kellie Martin (born Kellie Marien) is an acclaimed American actress. Kellie Martin has appeared in many films and TV series, including "Christy", a comedy about a teenage girl called Christy Huddleston. Her other roles of note include the lead role in The Hailey Dean Mystery series. Born to a department-store buyer and a kindergarten teacher, Martin was able to begin her career in acting in the age of seven when her aunt, who worked as an nanny to Michael Landon's children, was able to help her get a guest spot in the 1982 show "Father Murphy". After her graduation of Yale University, she took acting more seriously, and eventually landed significant roles both on the smaller and large screen. Martin has a background as an actress and a skilled dancer and photographer, has been working in the field for more than 20 years. Martin's sister, who died from Lupus aged 19 was the inspiration behind her becoming the Lupus national spokesperson.
